International Scholarship Scheme
The ICC partners recognise the important of involving students, early career researchers and young professional in ICSEMIS. At the first ICSEMS, held in Guangzhou, China in 2008, around 75 scientists and professionals, many from China itself were supported to attend and benefit from the Convention.
The LOC plans to bring atleast 40 young people to ICSEMIS 2012 from developing nations. Please click here to see a list of the Least Developed/Priority Countries.
The four ICC partners (IOC, IPC, FIMS and ICSSPE will each recruit 9 scholars and four will be chosen from the 2008 Chinese earthquake zone.
The LOC will provide GB £1500 towards the visit of each scholar. It is hoped that some funds will also be available from the IOC Medical Commission via Olympic Solidarity. Every scholar will have to meet strict criteria and will be required to seek top up funds for their visit.
- Be English speaking
- Be a young/early career sports medicine physician or physiotherapist
- Be involved in Sports Medicine or in Sports Traumatology
- Be eligible for appropriate visa status/accreditation
- Be able to demonstrate that they can meet the necessary costs to top up their scholarship
- Be from one of the nominated developing countries

- Be English speaking
