Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the International Coordinating Committee for ICSEMIS 2012, I am honoured and delighted to welcome you to be a part of this truly global sport science convention, the largest of its type ever to take place in the UK.

ICSEMIS 2012 is positioned to take full advantage of the world’s attention that will focus on the UK in July 2012. The Opening Ceremony of the London Olympic Games will take place on July 27 just after the Convention ends and we expect many Convention delegates to attend both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

We will attract delegates from every professional sector and every academic discipline associated with sport, physical education, exercise and physical activity. All the main international and national scientific and scholarly associations from this burgeoning field will be represented in the Scientific Programme. Our Exhibition will provide opportunities to showcase the latest in scientific equipment, expertise and publications for sport and exercise and will include live demonstrations and master classes associated with the delivery of sports coaching, teaching and scientific measurement.

We hope you will share our enthusiasm for the opportunities that ICSEMIS 2012 presents. We look forward to working closely with you as the excitement builds towards July 2012.
